ADULT
MINISTRIES
Small Groups
Worship and the teaching of God’s Word are essential
reasons we meet together on Sunday mornings. Yet we
realize the need for a small group environment where
folks are really connected to one another. It is
vital to provide opportunities to develop strong
relationships where we are challenged and encouraged
in our relationship with the Lord.
The
small group also provides an opportunity to
experience “community,” build relationships, grow
spiritually, and build one another up in the faith.
We
believe that life change happens in small groups.
Women's Ministry
We
seek to meet the needs of women in order to help
them use their unique gifts by encouraging
relationships among women and help them reach
spiritual maturity. Ministries include various Bible
studies throughout the week and a prayer ministry
(Moms Still-in-Touch and Prayer Chain). This
ministry also serves by providing meals and care for
families in need, and support and encouragement for
new moms and brides. Retreats are scheduled each
year. We also offer a women’s discipleship ministry
that brings women together for intentional
one-on-one relationships to build them in the faith.

Men's Ministry
We
encourage the development of men in their roles at
home, at church, and in society, and the formation
of relationships that spur one another to greater
godliness. We have a
number of men who meet regularly in one-to-one
discipleship relationships. One of the highlights is
our annual men’s retreat, which provides a great
opportunity to be refreshed in our faith and renewed
in our commitment to honor Christ in every area of
our lives.

Men of Fellowship
Men
of Fellowship is made up of men who come together to
have fellowship with one another and are committed
to serving and loving the Lord by meeting service
needs within the congregation.

Singles Ministry

Our Career/Singles Ministry is called “ones2ONE” and meets
weekly at Ricky and Dalia's
house (307 Alamosa in
Hewitt) Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm
and for various
special events. This ministry reaches out to single
adults beyond the college years. As a church, we
seek to provide a caring and supportive environment
for strong spiritual growth for singles working and
studying in our community. We desire to build
relationships, offer one-to-one discipleship
opportunities, and provide role models of an active
and vibrant faith.
Currently our Ones2One group goes deeper into Grant's sermon
from that Sunday morning utilizing the questions on
the back of the bulletin insert.

Mountaineers
Ministry
|
This ministry
focuses on those people who are “empty-nest”
age. In 1987 John Mackinnon, one of FBC’s
elders, established the Mountaineers’
ministry focus “as a group of climbers
‘roped’ together for training to reach the
higher ranges. This outward bound
experience will prepare the class to
function in the higher altitude. This
adventure together shall focus on our common
goal of reaching the very summit. |
 |
This group meets regularly for
meals and fellowship, and there are other events
during the year that will be of interest for people
in this age group. These people have opportunities
for service, especially helping out with church-wide
events.
