GLOBAL OUTREACH
Why?
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says,
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey every thing I have
commanded you.” His Words direct us to tell people about His
free gift of the forgiveness of sins and to mentor or
disciple them as they grow in their walk with Him. In Acts
1:8, Jesus tells His followers that they will be His
“witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and
to the ends of the earth.” Jesus’ directive to all believers
is to take the Good News to all people- people in our own
cities, in surrounding areas, and all over the world. Our
motivation to spread the gospel comes from our desire to
obey and glorify God. We must pray and go locally and
globally because God desires for all the peoples of the
earth to come to Him, so that whole earth will be filled
with His glory.
Who?
We send missionaries from our church
and support missionaries and ministries to fulfill this
Great Commission. Currently, FBC supports missionaries that
have a direct relationship with our church and ministries in
our community that care for the poor and advocate for the
unborn. We also support short-term healthcare and evangelism
trips to Mexico and youth mission experiences.
How?
Everything we have is “on loan” from
God. Our possessions and our property are provided for us
to glorify Him, to learn and practice good stewardship, and
to build our integrity (I Chronicles 29:11-17). Jesus
taught his disciples to trust the Lord to supply their needs
through the generosity of the people to whom they ministered
and to teach those who received the blessing of their
ministry to support Christ’s servants (Matt.10:9-10). Paul
encouraged believers in the early church to give generously
to God’s work, and he assured them that God would meet their
needs when they gave with “cheerful” hearts (II Cor. 8-9).
We support missionaries generously in prayer and financially
to partner with them in ministry - to be “fellow workers in
the truth” (3 John 8). FBC missionaries and ministries are
supported financially by individuals and families who give
funds to the church, designated to the specific missionary
or ministry, and/or to the mission agency/ministry directly.
