Several causes drive the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including ethnic, national, historical, and religious. What is less well understood is the extent to which religion influences the identities of the people involved in this struggle, the practical concerns at stake, and the related policies and attitudes – even of non-religious participants on both sides.
